Ahyan Panjwani
Ahyan is currently a PhD student in Economics at Yale University. His research interests
include macroeconomics and finance, with a focus on fixed-income assets, in particular,
mortgages and their roles in the Crisis of 2008. He is also interested in the role of
computational advances, such as deep-learning and high-performance computing in
economic modelling.
Previously, Ahyan has collaborated in interdisciplinary research at the Santa Fe Institute,
and taught econometrics for the University of Central Asia’s Master’s program for Afghan
Civil servants. Currently, Ahyan is also involved in field research in Pakistan’s agricultural
sector, investigating the barriers faced by farmers in access to credit and technology.
Ahyan is very passionate about cricket, and enjoys both watching and playing the sport.
